7 nguyên tắc mới cho lãnh đạo

Con đường trở thành lãnh đạo là con đường phát triển cá nhân, đòi hỏi phải có chút ít năng khiếu lãnh đạo bẩm sinh, có tố chất lãnh đạo và phải trải qua quá trình rèn luyện, tích lũy lâu dài. Người nào nắm vững các nguyên tắc về lãnh đạo, người đó sẽ có lợi thế trên hành trình ấy.

"Bạn là ai?", tất cả chúng ta đang phải đối mặt với câu hỏi này. Ra quyết định đúng đắn để trả lời câu hỏi này là bước khởi đầu cho hành trình trở thành một nhà lãnh đạo. Chúng ta phải hiểu chúng ta biết gì và không biết gì về chính bản thân chúng ta. Chúng ta phải có được sức đề kháng và cả khả năng chịu đựng trước thay đổi và sự sợ hãi.

Biết từ bỏ

Trong thời đại công nghiệp, quy luật đầu tiên của việc "đi như bay" đã được áp dụng: đừng từ bỏ bất cứ cái gì bạn đang có cho đến khi có được một cái khác. Trong thời đại phụ thuộc lẫn nhau, bạn không thể tiến bộ khi bạn không chịu bỏ cái mà bạn đang có. Từ bỏ sẽ đưa chúng ta tới những kinh nghiệm mới, từ đó chúng ta hiểu rõ hơn chúng ta là ai. Từ bỏ cho phép chúng ta có trách nhiệm hơn với hành động và tương lai của mình.

Có mục đích

Mỗi người đều có mục đích riêng của mình nhưng không phải ai cũng hiểu rõ ràng về mục đích của mình. Tuy nhiên, nếu chúng ta xác định mục đích quá sớm, chúng ta có thể tự giới hạn những gì chúng ta có thể thực hiện trong cuộc đời. Chúng ta lập ra mục đích trong tương quan với những điều khác.

Quan trọng là chúng ta phải phát triển thói quen bắt bộ não "lọc" để chọn ra những điều tích cực. Thói quen đó xuất phát từ những giá trị mà chúng ta có. Các giá trị lại đưa chúng ta tìm đến với những mục đích mà chúng ta chưa biết. Khi chúng ta phát hiện ra những mục đích mới, chúng ta có thể quyết định có thay đổi các giá trị hay không, để lại một lần nữa thúc đẩy chúng ta tiến bước trên quá trình học tập suốt đời.

Đặt câu hỏi

Chúng ta phải nhận thức rằng mọi thứ đều có quan hệ với nhau. Vì thế chúng ta phải biết đặt câu hỏi để tìm ra những mối quan hệ quan trọng của giải pháp mang tính hệ thống.

Trong lần tàu vũ trụ Apollo 13 gặp nạn, giải pháp nhanh chóng được đưa ra là cho quay tàu lại và đốt động cơ. Nhưng giám sát chuyến bay đã tránh giải pháp nhanh chóng và yêu cầu nhân viên của mình "đặt câu hỏi" trong ba ngày, dựa vào khả năng của họ để đưa các phi hành gia trở về an toàn. Hóa ra giải pháp nhanh chóng lại là một giải pháp chết người, vì động cơ đã bị hỏng. Cần phải có sự linh hoạt để chúng ta có thể gợi mở được những tiềm năng còn chưa biết đến.

Học nghệ thuật "dựng nhà"

"Dựng nhà" là truyền thống của văn hóa du mục khi mọi người cùng tập hợp lại để dựng nhà hộ cho ai đó. Các cá nhân sử dụng tài năng của mình, các nhóm được thành lập để hoàn thành một công việc cụ thể, từ đó tạo dựng nên một cộng đồng. Sự nhấn mạnh đến khả năng làm việc nhóm ngày nay dựa trên nhận thức về nhu cầu phải làm việc cùng với những người khác. Một mục đích chung sẽ thúc đẩy các cá nhân đóng góp công sức, kỹ năng và khả năng của họ.

Biết trao quyền

Nghịch lý của cuộc sống là chúng ta càng mong giữ được điều gì, chúng ta càng dễ đánh mất nó. Xem người khác như những nguồn năng lượng có thể tái sinh và từ bỏ quyền uy sẽ tạo điều kiện cho họ phát huy đầy đủ sức mạnh của mình. Từ đó tiềm năng của tổ chức sẽ được nhân lên. Có được điều này là do chúng ta trao quyền và khuyến khích chính chúng ta và những người khác.

Trao quyền sẽ không phát huy tác dụng nếu như không có sự khuyến khích người khác rút kinh nghiệm từ sai lầm của họ. Chúng ta phải không ngừng theo đuổi việc giải phóng sự kiểm soát và quyền uy.

Quên đi nhu cầu của bản thân

Nguyên tắc cuối cùng của lãnh đạo là quên đi nhu cầu của bản thân. Chúng ta phải trở thành một thành viên trong nhóm và sử dụng các khả năng của chúng ta để tham gia vào mục đích chung, giúp cho nhóm đạt được tiềm năng cao nhất. Luôn có ba sự lựa chọn: lãnh đạo, đi theo hay đi đường khác. Trí tuệ của lãnh đạo trong thời đại phụ thuộc lẫn nhau là phải biết hành động như thế nào trong từng tình huống cụ thể.

Please note the odd sequence in counting, as you will see, it is necessary for the inductive analysis. By starting with a top we are assured of beginning our count on a new wave. (The reverse would apply for a bearish wave.)

The 2 point is a top.
The 3 point is the bottom of the irst decline.
The 1 point is the bottom prior to point 2 (top), that 3 has surpassed.
The 4 point is the top of the rally after point 3.
The 5 point is the bottom after point 4 and is likely to exceed the extended trend line of 1 to 3. This is the entry point for a ride to the EPA line (1 to 4).
Estimated Price at Arrival (EPA) is trend line of 1 to 4 at apex of extended trend line of 1 to 3 and extended trend line of 2 to 4.
Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) is apex of extended trend line of 1 to 3 and 2 to 4.

Bollinger Bands - Secret

90% of all traders using Bollinger band never go beyond the first date to discover the true power and predictability that this indicator has to offer. New traders and veterans alike are totally unaware of some of the secrets I'm about to reveal to you right here in this short but revealing article.

As you may know Bollinger bands consists of a pair of Bands around price action and a moving average, usually a 21 period moving average. The bands themselves typically represent 2 standard deviations around price.

This simply allow a trader to see the mean, or moving average, and a distance from price in both directions that represents a 2 standard deviation from the mean. So you have the MIDDLE, and the OUTER limits if you will.

Now, here's what most people know about Bollinger bands. They know that when price closes beyond a band on either side, it is likely to reverse if only for a short time. They also know that if the bands squeeze together tightly around price a likely break-out will occur in one direction or the other.

This is what I mean by the first date. They learn this and move on to the next Holy Grail, never really getting into the meat, or the power that's at their fingertips.

Bollinger Bands - The Meat...

The above methods of using Bollinger bands are strong don't get me wrong, I made a killing in 2006, early 2007 and a big part of 2009 using a simple reversal strategy with Bollinger bands, but a closer look at price action relative to the bands gives you 10 times more insight.

Reversals / Continuations

Funny thing about Bollinger bands is that the reversal and the continuation set-ups are identical. In my opinion this is what frustrates most traders and this is why they never make it to the second date. They have a hard time with the fact that in the heat of the moment they misread whether a continuation or reversal set-up is forming and they more often than not get on the wrong side of the trade.

The fix is understand and observing how the bands react to approaching price action.

Approaching Price Action

The key to your falling in love with Bollinger bands is careful observation of how the bands react to approaching price action. Both bands not just the one being approached. In a nut shell here is the magic formula.

We'll use Bullish reversal's and continuations for this example and the opposite is true for bearish reversals or continuations.

1.) Price approaches the upper band and the upper and lower bands remain flat. Reversal - Likely a sharp reversal to the lower band. Because both bands are flat this will likely be short lived.

2.) Price approaches the upper band and the upper band goes up and the lower band is flat or moving up slightly. Continuation - Price will likely continue up slowly for a time.

3.) Price approaches the upper band and the upper band goes up and the lower band goes down. Continuation - Price will likely move up fast and furious. This is the best continuation pattern for the bands. This is a rapid expansion of volatility. You will experience "fake out's" sometimes but most of the time this set-up will produce some good profits when executed properly.

4.) Price approaches the upper band and the upper and lower bands both go down. - Reversal - This is likely to result in a reversal but keep in mind price will likely only make it to the mean, the 21 period moving average with both bands heading down like this. This is a rare occurrence and is typical of a bigger market swing. A transition from Bullish to Bearish conditions.

Your best bet is to pull up 10 charts and spend some time observing how the bands react to approaching price action. My guess is when your done you'll likely take Bollinger bands out on her long overdue second date.

VNINDEX vẫn đang nằm trên Support zone, được tạo bởi điểm 52 Week low. Nhiều nhà đầu tư vẫn coi đây là một chỉ báo khá quan trọng. Vì đội khi đây trở thành Support mạnh khi giá CP đã trở nên hấp dẫn, giống như quay trở lại xuất phát điểm sau 52 tuần giao dịch và lòng tham sẽ thay thế cho sự sợ hãi.

Chỉ báo về trend ( ADX(14) ) : - DI : Thể hiện cho downtrend đã xuất hiện sự phân kỳ với đường giá, và momentum cũng có dấu hiệu đi lên tạo Devergence => Downtrend trong ngắn hạn đã có sự suy yếu.

_ VNindex từ tháng 11/2009 tạo cái tam giác hướn lên với cái cán cơ nằm phía trên : Symmetrical triangle in dowtrend

_ Đến tháng 5 nó rớt ra khỏi cái tam giác này, MA 20 rớt xuống dưới MA50 confirm 1 dow trend.

Đều khó khăn khi trade pattern này là nó không rớt thẳng xuống mà cứ khi chạm vào các điểm low phía dưới là nó lại bật lên tạo hi vọng, ru ngủ người ta khiến cho quên đi cái Dowtrend hiện hiện hữu.

Hiện tại vnindex đang chạm vào cái điểm low cuối cùng của cái Tam giác này và đây cũng là cái điểm 52 week low của vnindex, số cp hit 52 week low cũng đã tăng lên đang kể : ĐIỀU NÀY SẼ KÍCH THÍCH LÒNG THAM CỦA MỌI NGƯỜI VÀ CÁC NHÀ ĐẦU TƯ GIÁ TRỊ.

_ Chart của vnindex hiện tại momentum down đã suy yếu, cho nên tôi nghĩ rằng tại support zone này sẽ có những phiên bật lên. Nhưng cũng đừng quên cái down trend. Vnindex mất 6 tháng để hình thành cái tam giác, thì chắc cũng sẽ mất 6 tháng để hoàn thành target của pattern này. Hi vọng pattern sẽ failure

Thoát ra ngay nếu vnindex rớt xuống khỏi support zone.

(StockBiz) Thị trường trong tuần vẫn tiếp tục chuỗi tuần giảm điểm với những phiên lao dốc không phanh. Nhà đâu tư vẫn bị ảnh hưởng bởi các thông tin từ thị trường bên ngoài là chủ yếu. Tuy vậy, khối ngoại vẫn duy trì mua ròng tại sàn HO trong khi lại xả hàng trên HNX.

Điểm tình hình kinh tế thế giới tuần qua: Bộ Thương mại Mỹ công bố thâm hụt thương mại tháng 6/2010 là 49,9 tỷ USD, cao nhất từ tháng 10/2008; FED nhận định đà phục hồi của kinh tế Mỹ trong thời gian tới sẽ chậm hơn so với dự đoán nên FED duy trì lãi suất cơ bản ở mức thấp kỷ lục 0% đến 0,25%; Các chỉ số kinh tế vĩ mô Trung Quốc cho thấy, nền kinh tế nước này đang giảm tốc so với nửa đầu năm nay; Kinh tế Hy Lạp tăng trưởng âm quý thứ 7 liên tiếp và tỷ lệ thất nghiệp leo thang…

Trong nước: Tổ chức Giám sát doanh nghiệp quốc tế (BMI) vừa công bố báo cáo dự đoán về tình hình tăng trưởng kinh tế của Việt Nam, theo đó nâng mức dự báo tăng tổng sản phẩm quốc nội (GDP) của Việt Nam trong năm nay từ mức 4,4% lên 6% và trong 5 năm tới sẽ đạt mức trung bình 6,2%/năm; Chính phủ giao Ngân hàng Nhà nước Việt Nam tiếp tục điều tiết mặt bằng lãi suất thị trường theo hướng giảm dần…

Thị trường chứng khoán trong tuần đều giảm mạnh ở hai sàn, nhà đầu tư đã vội vàng bán tháo cổ phiếu. Sàn HO, VN-Index đã giảm đến 30,09 điểm (-6,23%) trong tuần vừa qua khi đóng cửa tuần tại 452,73 điểm; Giá trị và khối lượng giao dịch bình quân mỗi phiên tại sàn HOSE đạt lần lượt 1.076 tỷ đồng và 41,49 triệu cổ phiếu. Nhà đầu tư nước ngoài đã mua vào tới 5.828.556 đơn vị đồng thời bán ra 11.942.846 đơn vị, giá trị mua ròng đạt 195,42 tỷ đồng.

Cũng đã có mã được nhà đầu tư nước ngoài mua ròng hơn 1 triệu đơn vị là STB và PVD lần lượt với 1.517.410 và 1.081.460 đơn vị. Tiếp theo là các mã như CII, D2D, VNS…Trong tuần khối ngoại cũng xả hàng mạnh ở PPC với 1.398.060 đơn vị, HPG, HT1, HSG, HVG…

Trên sàn Hà Nội, thị trường tuần qua cũng tiếp tục chìm sâu với 3 phiên giảm mạnh. HNX-Index chốt tuần tại 134,97 điểm, giảm 11,17 điểm (-7,69%) so với phiên đóng cửa cuối tuần trước. giá trị và khối lượng giao dịch bình quân tại sàn HNX cũng có sự cải thiện đáng kể, đạt lần lượt 903,5 tỷ và 36,37 triệu cổ phiếu. Nhà đầu tư nước ngoài cũng có tới 3 phiên bán ròng mạnh trong khi có hai phiên mua ròng ít ỏi ngày 10 và 12/8. Trong tuần, khối ngoại mua vào 1.465.670 đơn vị trong khi bán ra tới 2.148.170 đơn vị, giá trị bán ròng là 2,68 tỷ đồng.

Các mã bị bán ròng mạnh trong tuần là SHB, PVI, KLS, BCC, ORS… bên cạnh những mã được gom nhiều như PVS, VCG, VNR, BVS, PVX…

_ _ Điều không mong đợi ở đầu tháng 7 thì nó đã xảy ra vào đầu tháng 8. Hi vọng tại sencond leg này vnindex sẽ có những phiên khởi sắc hơn. Hơn nữa trong market có rất nhiều các CP xuất hiện Bullish pattern, đây là 1 indicator để tôi tin răng index sẽ khởi sắc vào tuần sau, có lẻ là ngày thứ 3 của tuần sau hoặc cuối phiên ngày thứ 2 index sẽ bật lại. Hope ... hope...

_ DJI make a H & S pattern but I see that it's difficult to complete thì pattern, and reach to strong support 9800, maybe it will be a Tripple bottom at 9800.

_ VN index after break down form low line of Symmetrical triangles, it will met support at 500: Bollinger bot, so that i think that we will trade in range form 500 -510. Let select stocks whom stronger than market or let try to fishing bottom...kakaka .. BUT Take care and remain careful and disciplined, because if you don't, this market will chop you to bits.

_ Đúng như dự đoán từ tuần trước, DJI đã vượt qua trend line resistence tron ngắn hạn để đi lên hình thành cái vai bên phải. Đêm qua sau khi tăng hơn 1% lên ~ 1060 chạm vào MA50 thì DJI đã bật ngược trở lại tạo 1 candle có bóng dài phía trên : bearish. Việc DJI tạ vai phải nhưng mô hình H$ S với target là 9200 có hình thành hay không còn ở phía trước cần phải theo dõi nhưng trước mắt là khá nguy hiểm. Be careful!

_ Market đã có những tín hiệu tích cực , mức tiếp theo là 530 - 535 theo W pattern cũng là REs line dài hạn.

_ Dow jones đêm nay sẽ gặp mức cản trong ngắn hạn, nhưng theo tôi khả nẵng sẽ tiếp tục đi lên để hình thảnh RS, theo patter H & S.

Cuối tháng 5 index đã tạo 1 cái GAP up, nhiều ý kiến cho là Fill gap rùi sẽ chạy lên trở lại nhưng theo tôi khả năng này khó xảy ra, mà nếu có chạy lên thì cũng không qua được đoạn 530.
Fill gap : GAP ngày 28/5 có size quá lớn cho nên sẽ mất 2,3 phiên để Fill Gap, trong khi Vol ngày tạo Gap chưa đủ mạnh để nâng đỡ cái GAP này, cho nên Vol của 2,3 phiên Fill Gap sẽ đè bẹp cái vol này, và làm cho market đi xuống.
Về target down cho Vnindex tôi đặt ra 2 mốc:
_ Trường hợp xấu nhất là 450 theo mô hình AB = CD, với giả thiết là World market trở nên so Bad, mốc 10K của DJI ko giữ được.
_ Trường hợp khả quan hơn là mốc D1 : vnindex sẻ test lại 480, DJI giữ được 10K và đi lên 10700.
Theo nhận định của tôi thì khả năng vnindex dừng ở mốc 485 là rất cao vì đây là Low Andrew Pitchfork line ( màu xanh), thêm vào đó là Bollinger Bot đang hướng lên, khi vnindex rớt về mốc 485 BB bot sẽ tiến đến điểm này nâng đỡ cho vnindex và khi 1 đáy nằm ngoài BB Bot và 1 đáy cao hơn nằm trong BB thì sẽ tạo ra 1 W pattern và target của nó là Medi AP line cũng là Fill lại cái GAP down 530 đang là vai trò Res của Vnindex.
Tóm lại : trong tuần đâu tiên của tháng 6 vnindex sẽ còn gặp nhiều khó khăn, những người thích bắt đáy thì xem xét mốc D1 485 để mò váy, còn những người muốn an toàn thì nên chờ Index cắt qua Mid BB để mua vào, vì đến đây W pattern đã rõ ràng.

Two Patterns You Never Heard of: Throwbacks and Pullbacks

Throwbacks and pullbacks are not new to securities, but if you don't

understand how price behaves, a losing trade may result.

Figure 1 shows an example of a throwback. Price forms a symmetrical triangleby bumping up against overhead resistance highlighted by a down-sloping

trendline and finds support along the bottom of the pattern, shown by a rising

trendline. The two trendlines converge sometime in the future at the triangle

apex.

A breakout from the symmetrical triangle occurs when price closes outside of

the trendline, not just pierces it. I show the breakout as point A in the

figure. Price moves up for three days and then begins retracing the move,

eventually bottoming at B. The looping action completes the throwback. Price

"throws back" to the breakout price or trendline boundary, before rebounding.

Before we get to statistics, what should you look for in a throwback?

Throwbacks regularly occur after the breakout from chart patterns, which are

areas of congestion or sideways price movement. Most often, throwbacks occur

after a high volume breakout. Price climbs upward for several days before

rounding over and returning to the breakout price or chart pattern, leaving

white space in the looping action (see Figure 1). The white space requirement

separates a throwback from price sliding along the trendline. Finally, price

must complete the return trip to the breakout within a month or else it's not a

throwback.

Statistics

I looked at 12,256 chart patterns of various types and found that 53 percent

had throwbacks. Price rises for an average of three days after the breakout

before the turn begins. During that time, the most likely gain is six percent to

eight percent (found using a frequency distribution), but the average gain is

ten percent. By the tenth day after the breakout, on average, price has returned

to the breakout point. In 86% of the cases, price resumed the uptrend after

that.

There are a few important points to remember here.

1. Do not panic when price begins turning down after the breakout. Once the

throwback completes, there is a very good chance that the upward move will

resume.

2. If you are a nimble trader, you can buy at the breakout and sell when

price peaks several days later. Then buy back in once price resumes trending

upward after the throwback ends.

3. If you see a breakout with unusually high volume, meaning that volume is

above the 30-day average, then price will throwback 70 percent of the time.

That's useful information in planning your trade.

4. Finally, not all throwbacks end at the breakout price or chart pattern

boundary. Fourteen percent continue dropping below the bottom of the pattern.

Pullbacks

Pullbacks are similar to throwbacks because it's the same pattern flipped

upside down. Figure 2 shows an example, but this time, price plunges down from a

large descending triangle. A descending triangle chart pattern has a flat base

and down-sloping top trendline. The breakout is downward 64 percent of the time.

I show the breakout at point A. The pullback completes when price climbs to

B, the bottom of the triangle, but look what happens. Price continues moving

higher, eventually topping out at C before jumping on the sled and sliding

downhill again.

I examined 10,878 chart patterns and found that the pullback rate was 56

percent. That means 44 percent did not return to touch the chart pattern

boundary or the breakout price within 30 days. If it did return to the breakout

after that, it still does not count as a pullback. This is an arbitrary limit,

but one commonly recognized. Usually, a pullback occurs quickly. In fact, it

takes just three days for price to reach bottom, on average. During that time,

the decline is most likely four to ten percent, spread evenly, but the average

is nine percent. After that, the long struggle back to the breakout begins. It

reaches the chart pattern boundary or breakout price ten days after the

breakout, the same as in a throwback. Just 13 percent continue to rise above the

pattern. That means the other 87 percent resume the downward plunge.

For traders, both throwbacks and pullbacks are significant developments.

Imagine shorting the stock at the bottom of Figure 2 just before a pullback

begins. Many novice traders will panic when faced with an uptrend in a short

position. However, with patience and a bit of luck, the downtrend will resume

and you'll soon be in the money again. In a small number of cases, you'll be

taken to the woodshed, and that's what makes trading interesting.

Entering Existing Trends

Certainly, if a trader knew the perfect entry point or the perfect exit point, trading would be easy! Although the best entry points are the market reversals (first signal), unfortunately, most traders either hesitant on entry or miss the entry point altogether. Furthermore, for traders who exit at the end of the day, the market reversal may have come the day before. So how does a trader enter these existing trends? There are several different ways to enter existing trends, including a change in volume, a hook pattern, or by using the Hawkeye RoadKill technique. However, keep in mind that you should not chase the trend all the way up. What do we mean by this? Instead of entering on all the volume changes or hooks or RoadKill opportunities, limit your entry opportunities to the first one, if scalping, or the first two, if trading intra-day or long-term.

Change in Volume:

Volume is the measurement of buyers and sellers in the market. More buyers than sellers, price goes up (demand is higher than supply). More sellers than buyers, price goes down (supply is higher than demand). However, markets do not go straight up or down. Therefore, we look for a pause, as indicated by the volume indicator, to enter an existing trend. A good indication of a market pause is during an uptrend, price bars are increasing but buying volume decreases, which causes the volume color to turn to white, possibly even red. Then green volume returns to the market and prices continue to increase.

The above chart on the ES 5-Minute Chart for March 31, 2009 shows the market was in an uptrend from the previous day. We also notice that the market opened with neutral volume (white volume bars), however, buyers then came back into the market. You can then enter a long position at $788.75.

Using a Hook Pattern:

Another way to find your entry is using a Hook Pattern. Hook Patterns are identified by looking at the previous close compared to the current close. In an existing up trend, a close down followed by a close up is a hook for long entry. In a downtrend the pattern should be opposite, ie a close up followed by a close down. The following image of the ES 5 minute chart shows you a hook pattern, and your short entry was on the next bar after the hook, at $828.50

Hawkeye RoadKill

Although the volume change and Hook pattern are both good entry points, the most successful entry in an existing trend is by using the Hawkeye RoadKill methodology. The Hawkeye RoadKill methodology is defined as when there is an established trend on the longer term chart and the shorter term trend turns white, possibly even the opposite trend color, then returns to trend color of the longer term chart. For example, the longer term chart is green, the shorter term trend turns white (turning red would be even better) then the shorter term trends turns back to green giving you Hawkeye ROADKILL.

However, now instead of monitoring the two timeframes simultaneously, we have developed the new Hawkeye RoadKill indicator, which shows not only when RoadKill occurs but also when a new trend is established for both aggressive entries and initial entries.

In the image below of the ES 3-Minute chart for April 2, 2008, the dark green dot indicates a new trend is established (the longer term chart was white and then went green). However, perhaps you missed the entry. Your next two entry points are indicated by the two big, bright green dots indicating Hawkeye RoadKill has occurred between the short-term chart and the long-term chart.

There are many articles that have been written on volume over the years. Most traders have learned about volume in their studies of the markets, however, few really give attention on the value of change in volume and how it affects their trading. Understanding the way volume plays in the market is the key to be successful in trading. The greatest fan of volume was Richard Wyckoff; believed that understanding the context and principles of market volume was the path to success.

The volume is the number of shares, contracts or bonds traded during a specific period of time. It can be daily, weekly, monthly, minutes or tick volume in any trading markets. Each volume bar represents the action between ‘buyers and sellers’. Volume is normally displayed as a histogram in the chart.

Volume is the indication of Supply and demand. The old economic theory about the relations of supply and demand determines the price movements. When demand (buyers) increases supply (sellers) decreases or when supply increases demand decreases. When there is a change in price, it is the result of change in demand and supply. When a change in market sentiment happen most traders don't find out until it is too late. Trading volume indicates the trader, to know when and where a change in sentiment is going to take place, and act accordingly.

Volume Analyzing is a very powerful tool, which has some predicting capabilities. Volume typically goes with the trend. Volume represents a complete market picture. High Volume indicates that larger than usual trading activity arise on that trading period. When volume starts to increase, it is a positive sign of buyers or sellers and the direction of the price trend. When volume starts declining in an uptrend, it can be a sign of price trend reversal.

Typical volume only measures the number of buyers and sellers in the market for that particular price bar. This type of volume measurement fails to look at the range of the bar or the open/close of the bar. So if the number of buyers is greater than the number of sellers, the bar is green. If the number of sellers is greater than the number of buyers, then the bar is red. This is a very simplistic measurement of volume and is only valid for that particular price bar.

With Volume Spread Analysis, we take an in-depth look at not only the current price bar but the previous price bars, as well as the open, close, high and low of the bar. In other words, when looking at the range of the bars, who had more control, buyers, sellers, or was the volume neutral. By using this method we can actually identify when the professional money is entering or exiting the market.

In any markets before you execute your trade, it is very important to know, who is controlling the market in that particular time and day which is buyers or sellers. If you trading futures you can watch who is controlling the price using a KISS indicator.

Additionally, FOREX does not have true volume, we can use “Tick Count” for measuring volume. If trading a tick chart, all volume bars will be of the same height. However, if we use a minute chart, then we can see the difference volume bar heights. The difference with the VSA indicator and a normal volume indicator is the measurement of volume per x amount of bars, plus a standard deviation. This allows us to see when buyers or sellers are coming into the market earlier.

The theory behind VSA is that volume leads price action -- not vice versa. The volume indicator gives you a heads up on who is controlling price. Then we look to the trend indicator to show us the momentum of a move. We look to the wide bar and volume radar to alert us to any unusual price or volume actions. We then take profits out using our Levels, while minimizing our risk with two dynamic stops, the crash barrier and stop. A long-term trader can maximize his profits in a trend by using the Adds.

the Key to Unlocking Profits - Part 1

Volume in the market is as important is to your car. Prices do not move without buyers and/or sellers. Since many of you have repeatedly asked for more information on volume, we have decided to do a complete series on volume over the course of the next four weeks. This series is aimed at giving you fundamental understanding volume behaviors. Each week we will add to the information from the previous week.

To help in understanding typical volume and price behavior, post these notes beside your computer and learn to identify the different volume behaviors as they occur on your charts.

Normal Volume Behavior:

Volume is highest before congestion
Volume is lowest as it moves deeper into congestion
Volume increases with a valid breakout of congestion and then subsides as the trend begins. (Look for the last Hawkeye Pivot being taken out.)
Volume increases with major reversals, approximately for the next 5-7 timeframes
Volume should move with trend strength, ie if trend dots are up and on an angle greater that 45%.
Volume should be lower on the second double top/bottom formations showing lack of selling. Then volume will pick up and a trend will be established.

Abnormal Volume Behavior:
Congestion Areas:

If heavier volume appears at the low end of congestion area, buying is being supported and prices tend to go up after breaking out of the upper price resistance level.
If heavier volume appears at the higher price level in the congestion area, then there are more sellers than buyers. Prices will eventually decline from the higher support area of the congestion zone.
Volume should increase during the breakout then subside as the trend begins to form. However, if volume stays high after the breakout and prices move too strongly, then the breakout will not be valid and prices will move back into congestion until fair value has been established then continue in trend (in other words price has got ahead of its self and it requires attendant volume to confirm trend direction.)
If price retraces after a breakout from congestion on high volume, and bounces off the outside edge of congestion, and then volume picks up again, this is a valid breakout.

Volume should be in the direction of the breakout. However, if volume does not confirm the direction of the breakout, then prices will likely go in the opposite direction. Remember, normal volume breakout increases with the breakout. Therefore, if you see a breakout with low volume, anticipate entering in the opposite direction as price cannot continue in this direction on low volume.

Volume Spikes

Volume Spikes are sudden and abrupt rises in volume (not just an increase in volume but a significant and abrupt increase in volume). Volume spikes are normally easily identifiable on a chart because they stand out when compared to previous volume bars.

Large volume spikes at the top of markets should be accompanied by very little upward price movement at the end of the move. This is what foretells the end of the advance. If you get volume spikes with large or comparable price movement, then the price could continue upwards. The key is price hitting a resistance line or seeing a small range bar on high volume. The small range bar shows that there is resistance (or support in the case of large volume after a decline).

If you are in a trade and notice high volume bars without advances in prices, as this is generally an indication of an impending reversal because the buyers (or sellers in downtrend) are drying up. Additionally, when you see Wide Bars or multiple violent price swings with a volume spike, this indicates that the price will typically reverse very soon.

Narrow Range Bar

A narrow ranging bar with high volume is an indication of weakness in the market trend. The reasoning is quite simple. In an uptrend, a bar with high volume should expand the range of the bar. If there is high volume, without an expansion of price, then it is a warning that there is weakness in the overall trend.

Upthrust

An upthrust is normally seen at the top of a bull market markets and, when combined with high volume, indicate a potential reversal. An upthrust occurs when, in an uptrend, there is a wide ranging bar that closes at either the middle or low of the price bar. If volume is ultra high, look for a reversal.

Buying Climax

After a substantial upward price movement (bull market move), a wide ranging bar that closes at the high (making a new high) with high volume indicates a buying climax. Remember, volume should increase at the beginning of a trend and then subsides.

Selling Climax

A wide spread down, with high volume, and the price bar closes at the high of the bar is known as a selling climax. Normally with a wide spread bar down, with sellers dominating the market, the price bar would close at the low of the price bar. When the price closes at the high of the price bar, then sellers have diminished and buyers are entering long positions.

Distribution
Distribution is the process of sellers absorbing the buyers in the market, very discreetly so that other traders do not recognize they are distributing their shares. Distribution always begins occurring at the top of bull markets but typically is not recognized until afterwards.

A cursor that the market is going into a distribution phase when prices have been rising in an uptrend and then a buying climax** occurs -- we discussed this last week (after a substantial upward price movement, a wide ranging bar occurs at the top of the market (making a new high, and closes near the top of the price bar with high volume).

Buying Climax

After the buying climax, heavy volume remains in the market, but price are no longer increasing at the same rate. This volume pattern indicates that the buyers are being ABSORBED by the sellers, in other words, there is no longer a demand for higher prices.

Although this exact point may not be the reversal point, you will see price go into consolidation and eventually breaks to the downside because buyers become frustrated and stop trying to increase the price.

The key here is the heavy volume which is not confirmed by price -- BEWARE.

Distribution

Accumulation
At the end of bear markets, accumulation begins -- buyers entering the market and accumulating shares very discreetly so that other traders do not realize they are actually taking long positions. The precursor to the accumulation phase is the opposite of the buying climax -- a selling climax**, which we discussed last week, as well (after prices have been moving downwards, a wide ranging bar with high volume occurs with the price bar closing at the high of the price bar).

Selling Climax

After the selling climax, price will cease to decline at the same rate. This means that price has reached a support area and that buyers are now absorbing the sellers. This normally occurs during a consolidation period, in which the buyers are absorbing the sellers. Sellers become frustrated as they are unable to cause the prices to go down, and eventually an upside breakout will occur.

Accumulation

Again, the key here is the heavy volume which is not confirmed by price -- BEWARE.

A great example of these patterns can be seen in the chart below for Citigroup. In October 2008, there was a wide ranging bar, with high volume and a close up around the high of the bar. This alerted us to a potential of the market going into an Accumulation phase. However, when markets go down, they do so with such force, that it takes a while for them to stop. Nigel calls this the "tanker effect", which is when you have a tanker moving at 65 miles per hour, once he applies his brakes he does not immediately stop. Instead, he continues moving for an additional distance until eventually he stops.

In January 2009, the chart shows a volume spike, which failed to move prices lower. This is our second indication that prices may be reversing in the near future. Thereafter, we see that price fails to move down, moving into a consolidation phase with the buyers are absorbing the sellers in the market. Since the entry criteria has not been met, we simply put the Stock on our Watch list and move on to the next prospect.

**Although the buying or selling climax is considered a pre-cursor to the accumulation or distribution phase, the climax can also come at the beginning or ending of the accumulation or distribution phase, as well.

Introduction to the Squeeze Play

The Squeeze Play is a volatility setup. It actually begins with an unusual lack of volatility for the market that you are trading. In other words, a market is trading with much less volatility than is usually the case judging by the market's historical data. Key point: The Squeeze Play relies on the premise that stocks and indexes fluctuate between periods of high volatility and low volatility. When periods of low volatility occur, a market should eventually revert back to its normal level of volatility. My strategy uses two indicators applied to Daily Bars: The well-known Bollinger Bands and... ...the much less well know Keltner Channels. With both the Bollinger Bands and Keltner Channels, I use the standard default settings that are used on vast majority of trading platforms that I've seen: Bollinger Bands: Length 20, Standard Deviation, 2 Keltner Channels: Length 20. There are two versions of the Keltner Channels that are commonly used. I use the version in which the bands are derived from "Average True Range." When I have looked at how Keltner Channels are configured in different charting programs, I've noticed that there can be some minor variations. You should not only be sure that you're using the formulation that uses Average True Range, but also that the center line is the 20-period Exponential moving average. Okay, let's get into the guts of of both of these indicators so that you'll understand why the combination of these two indicators is so effective.

	Bollinger Bands were made famous as a trading tool by John Bollinger in the early 1980s. A Bollinger band tells you the amount of volatility there is a given market relative to the recent past. When a market is very volatile relative to the recent past, the Bollinger band will expand. When a market is going through a period of low volatility relative to the recent past, the Bollinger band will contract.

	A Bollinger Band consists of three lines that are plotted for each day’s close over the course of time. A simple moving average. The simple moving average plus two standard deviations derived from closing prices. The simple moving average minus two standard deviations derived from closing prices. Different parameters in the Bollinger Band can be adjusted such as the period of the simple moving average and the number of standard deviations used. Use parameters that are usually the standard default setting. Bollinger Bands: Length 20, Standard Deviation, 2 Now, the statistical term that you don’t commonly hear in normal conversation is “standard deviation.” Understanding this term is the key to understand how a Bollinger Band detects and displays fluctuations in the degree of volatility. In plain English, standard deviation is determined by how far the current closing price deviates from the mean closing price. The formula for computing standard deviation is rather complex and I’m running the risk of oversimplifying (and offending math Phds) but the general concept is that the farther the closing price is from the average closing price the more volatile a market is deemed to be. And vice versa. That is what determines the degree of contraction or expansion of a Bollinger Band.



	*Here’s What’s Missing In Bollinger Bands* Before I get on with the discussion, let me state that I’m sure there are many traders who find the Bollinger Bands to be a valuable trading tool by itself. I think that’s fine and I wish them well. I only know that my own personal requirements as a trader from a risk/reward standpoint dictate that I need more information than what I can get from Bollinger Bands alone. As students of Bollinger Bands know, when the bands get "narrow", a breakout is about to occur. But how narrow is narrow? Chart created on Market Warrior, the flagship product of www.Mikulaforcasting.com. Chart 1 Note: The blue lines are Bollinger Bands. At point 1 the Red arrows are indicating a Bollinger Band Squeeze. At point 2 the Red arrows are indicating another Bollinger Band Squeeze. What’s hard about this situation is you do not know how to qualify this squeeze. What we need to do is to quantify how narrow is narrow so that you can determine when a potential trade is triggered. The way we do this is to add the Keltner Channel to the chart.

	*What Keltner Channels Are…In Plain English* Keltner Channels, which were originally created by Chester Keltner in 1960s and later modified by Linda Raschke, look similar to Bollinger Bands. They consist of a center line with an upper band and a lower band. The big difference between these two indicators is the following: Bollinger Bands: The distance of the outer bands from the center line is based on the movement of the closing price. The more the closing price moves from day-to-day, the more the outer bands expand away from the center line. Keltner Channel: The distance of the outer bands from the center line is based on the range from the high to low on a daily basis. The more the trading range varies, the more the outer bands expand away from the center line. As with Bollinger Bands, the formula for Keltner Channels is rather involved. We could get into it, but I'd rather just convey the general concept. The idea behind Keltner Channels is that the distance between the center lines and outer bands represent the mathematical norm. As such, you would normally expect to see all of the current price action contained within the bands of the Keltner Channel. The traditional use of the Keltner Channel is to look for a trading opportunity when the price action breaks outside of the Keltner Channel. When that happens, it means that an unusual level of momentum is coming into the market and a strong directional move may be underway. But here is the most useful observation from the perspective of the Squeeze Play. Go back and look at the Bollinger Band definition. Remember, the bands are a function of how much the current closing price differs from the average closing price. That's simplifying it a tad, but that is the general idea. Now, the Keltner Channel is based on the range between the high and the low. Let me ask you a question. Which do you think will tend to exhibit more change when the market goes from an abnormally non-volatile state back to normal volatility state? a. The difference between the current close and the average closing price or b. The range between the high and the low Here's my answer: While both values will tend to change, the answer is "a." Closing values will tend to exhibit more change than the trading range. As a result of this the outer bands of the Bollinger Bands will tend to expand and contract faster than the outer bands of the Keltner Channels. Now See chart 2 below Bollinger + Keltner.

Now you can see how this relationship allows us get a clear indication of potential trades stemming from volatility expansions.

Bollinger Band=Blue Keltner Channel=Red

In chart 2 now that we have the Keltner Channel overlaid on top of what you saw in Chart 1, we can qualify the Squeeze. You only take a squeeze play that meets the following criteria:

You only consider taking a squeeze play when both the upper and lower Bollinger Bands go inside the Keltner Channel.

Points 1 and 2 show examples of the Bollinger Bands (blue lines) going inside the Keltner Channel (Red lines). At those points, you know the squeeze has started.

When the Bollinger Bands (BOTH blue lines) start to come out of the Keltner Channel (red lines) the squeeze has been released and a move is about to take place.

Bollinger Bands and Keltner Channels tell you when a market is transitioning from low volatility to high volatilty. Using these two indicators together is a valuable technique in itself and I would imagine that some of you would be able to make use of it. Standard Deviation vs. Bollinger Bands

Standard deviations represent a classical statistical measure of volatility. For the investment markets, at any particular moment, the standard deviation reflects upon the variation in price that can occur relative to the fair underlying market value.

In essence, one would suspect that trading would always occur within this range, as the fundamental aspect of price changes are a result of the relative supply and demand available in the market.

Bollinger bands, when they expand, demonstrate increased volatility and interest in a particular trading instrument.

Contraction of the bands reflects upon uncertainty and a lack of interest in the market.

Reviewing graphical representations of Bollinger bands, one can see that price movements almost always occur within the limits representing the calculations derived.

Using Bollinger Bands for Entry and Exit Signals

For the individual investor attempting to determine optimal points of entry and exit, penetration of the bands represented by Bollinger limits provide opportunities to detect signals for significant market moves.

As investments tend to trade for long periods of time within a certain amount of detectable volatility, when that volatility has been penetrated, as exemplified by breaking one of the upper or lower bands, this becomes a prime signal that a significant market move is about to occur.

Effective Bollinger Band Techniques

As such, one technique for the detection of successful market moves is to sell at the upper limit and buy at the lower limit.

Historically, such a strategy produces consistent results. These results, however, do not always occur.

Consequently, one should always attempt to use other indicators to verify suspected movements. When confirmation can be ascertained, trading results are greatly improved.

It is not only possible to determine movements by the approach of limits, but also profitable entries and exits.

The candlesticks present represent current approaching price action to the upper or lower band. Lets start with #1.

1. Extremely bearish, price is falling to a lower band and the KEY is of course watching both the upper and lower band as price approaches. In this case the upper is rising while the lower is falling indicating not only a potential explosion in price but one to the downside is extremely likely.

2. Extremely bullish, price is rising to the upper band and the KEY is keeping a watchful eye on BOTH band as price approaches. In this case the upper band haeds UP and the lower band falls, indicating a potential price explosion to the upside.

3. Price approaches the lower band while the upper and lower band remain flat. This is very insignificant and should be ignored unless things change.

4. Price approaches the upper band while the upper and lower bands remain flat. This is also insignificant and best left for the amateurs to enter.

5. Bearish candlestick at a lower band while band constrict - this is a sign that price is likely at least for now going nowhere. Wait do not enter.

6. Same here, a bullish candlestick at the upper band while the bands are constricting is a sign that not much is about to happen just yet.

7. Like #1 this is a sign that price is going to make a nice move but the lack of the upper band hooking up indicates that the move for now won't necessarily be explosive.

8. Also similar to its counterpart in that price will likely move but not to the explosive level that would be expedited if the lower band was hooking downward. The lack of the lower band hooking down limits the potential move here.

Nhưng tưởng market sẽ có 1 đợt tăng điểm nhưng ngày 27/01 market lại mất điễm và ngày hôm qua cũng thế, hai ngày đã lấy đi tất cả thành quả của 3 phiên tăng điểm trước đây. Nỗi thất vọng lại trở về với các nhà đầu tư.

The Candlestick Format

Candlesticks are a unique way of charting share price moves.

The JSE Banking Index shows the difference between the formats of the more usual bar chart and the candlestick chart. There are numerous candlestick shapes and patterns that need to be studied. Candlesticks are another method of displaying price movement but are also used as an analytical tool in their own right.

History	Candlesticks were invented in Japan in the 16th century where they were used to predict rice prices. They are probably the oldest form of technical analysis.

Western analysis	They have only been used in western stock market analysis for about 30 years.

Stand alone	They are frequently used, especially by currency traders, as a stand alone analytical tool.

Bar charts		Candlestick charts
Display the opening, closing, high and low prices on a vertical bar that joins the high and low price. Opening and closing prices are shown as small horizontal ticks at the side of the bar. No distinction is made between up and down price moves. The high and low are the more important points.		Display the opening and closing prices as a solid body with the highs and lows as additional vertical lines. A clear distinction is made between up and down price moves. The body of an upmove is shown as white and a down move as black. The open and close are the more important points.

Candlestick bullish shapes have open real bodies that appear white. The thinner line at the top is the upper shadow and the one under the real body is called the lower shadow.		Candlestick bearish shapes have solid real bodies. The thinner line at the top is the upper shadow and the one under the real body is called the lower shadow.

Shaven Head A real body, white or black, and no upper shadow.		Shaven Bottom A real body, white or black, and no lower shadow.

Shooting Star A small real body at the lower end of a long upper shadow. It warns of a potential top reversal in a rising market.		Inverted Hammer A small real body at the lower end of a long upper shadow. It warns of a potential bottom reversal in a falling market.

Hanging Man A small real body at the top of a long lower shadow. It warns of a potential top reversal in a rising market.		Hammer The same format as the Hanging Man. It warns of a potential bottom reversal in a falling market.

Spinning Tops A small real body and long shadows. They imply equilibrium between buyers and sellers. They can be black or white.

Doji Lines The opening and closing prices are the same and the shape has no real body. It signals indecision except when it appears as a Gravestone Doji (see opposite)		Gravestone Doji A Doji in which the opening and closing prices are at the low of the price range. It signals a top in a bull run and a bottom in a bear phase.

Bearish Engulfing Pattern A long black body that engulfs a small white real body in an uptrend. The black body's opening price is above the closing price of the previous white body . A bearish trend reversal.		Bullish Engulfing Pattern A long white body that engulfs a small black real body in a down trend. The white body's opening price is below the closing price of the previous black body. A bullish trend reversal.

Dark Cloud Cover In an uptrend a long white body is followed by a black body that opens higher than the previous days upper shadow, but then closes more than half way down the white body. A bearish trend reversal.		Piercing Pattern (the opposite of Dark Cloud Cover) In a down trend a long black body is followed by a white body that opens lower than the past days lower shadow, it then closes more than half way up the black body. A bullish trend reversal.

Stars (Top Pattern) A Spinning Top of any colour that gaps away from a long real body in an uptrend. Gaps on candles are different to bar charts. Candle gaps work on the opening and closing price. Stars indicate a slowing of the current trend.		Stars (Bottom Pattern) A Hammer of any colour that gaps away from a long real body in a down trend. Gaps on candles are different to bar charts. Candle gaps work on the opening and closing price. Stars indicate a slowing of the current trend.

Doji Star (Top Pattern) In an up trend a Doji gaps away from a long real white body. An important reversal signal that is usually confirmed by a black downwards body in the next session.		Doji Star (Bottom Pattern) A Doji gaps away from a long real black body in a down trend. Generally regarded as an important reversal signal that is usually confirmed by a white upward body in the next session.

Evening Star A major top reversal formed by three candles. A Star top is followed by a black body that closes well below the first white bars closing price.		Morning Star A major bottom reversal formed by three candles. A Star bottom is followed by a white body that closes well above the first black bars closing price.

Evening Doji Star The same pattern as the Evening Star but the middle candle is a Doji. This pattern is considered to be even more bearish than the Evening Star.		Morning Doji Star The same pattern as the Morning Star above. But the middle candle is a Doji. This pattern is considered to be even more bullish than the Morning Star.

BOE (Banks) formed a double top pattern in February as a prelude to a major fall in price. Both tops were Evening Doji Star formations and gave a clear indication of events to come. Note that the upmove prior to the top contained several bullish Engulfing Patterns.

Coronation Holdings (Financial Services) started its May upward move with a bullish Engulfing Patterns. More recently it has formed two Evening Star top patterns forecasting a downward move in the share price. Two Evening Stars together is particularly bearish as they reinforce the negative effect.

First Rand (Banks) clearly illustrates the bearish implications of a preponderance of long upper shadows at the top of a bullish run. Buyers continuously push the opening prices upwards but are unable to hold them up for the rest of the session and the share price closes well under its highs.

Liberty (Life Assurance) appears to have an affinity for Doji Star tops and bottoms. The first Evening Doji Star had a double Doji in the middle of the pattern. The resultant fall was reversed by a Morning Doji Star and recently Liberty has mapped out another evening Doji Star indicating that further downside is likely.

Support and Resistance

Real body support Candlesticks do not use the high and low as the critical levels for support. They focus on the real body of the candle. Support lines are drawn under the real bodies of the candles. Any penetration of the support by the lower shadow is ignored.

Real body resistance Again the resistance levels are drawn across the tops of the real bodies and ignore any minor penetration by the upper shadow. Both the real body support and resistance lines have the same floor and ceiling effects as already discussed.

Upper Shadow Top Patterns When several candlesticks with long upper shadows occur at the end of an upmove it is a bearish signal. Buyers push the price up but are unable to hold onto the gains. The combination of upper shadows with the Doji and Shooting Star patterns indicate an imminent reversal for the Dow Industrial Average at this top resistance level.

Lower Shadow Bottom Patterns When a series of candles with lower shadows occurs at the low areas of a bearish phase it signals a potential reversal into a bullish move. The sellers push prices down but are unable to hold them at the lower levels. ASA shows this support effect.

Major features	The purpose of this module was to illustrate the major shapes and reversal patterns of Candlestick charts that will enable the investor to recognise significant potential trend reversal areas, especially when combined with other analytical techniques.

Many patterns	There are too many other patterns to mention in this discussion of candlesticks. I have focused on the more common reversal patterns.

Further reading	Steve Nison is generally regarded as the fundi on candlesticks and his books are well worth the read for those wishing to take this subject to a more focused level.

Stand alone	Although candlesticks can be used as a stand alone analytical tool they tend to be short term orientated and give too many short term signals for the average investor.

Combination	I find that the reversal signals discussed in this module are indispensable alerts when used in conjunction with oscillators. Especially as early warning signals combined with divergence analysis.

Market Cycle: Bulls Vs. Bears

Market cycles tend to follow the health of the economy, but keep in mind that the market always looks several months into the future. In other words, bear markets end while the economy is still struggling and bull markets end before recession hits. Bear markets are necessary to clean up prior excesses and the clear the way for a new bull market with new leaders. The frenzied stock buying of the late 90’s and the subsequent crash thereafter is a great example of "the greater the rise, the greater the fall".

Bull markets average around two years, while average bear markets run their course in around nine months.
Stock open strong and finish weak in bear markets, open weak and finish strong in bull markets

Is It a Bull or a Bear?

OK, so how do you time the market so that you are fully invested long in a bull market while staying in cash and/or shorting the market in a bear market? There are clues you can look for to help you determine the direction of the market. The price and volume action of the market and leading stocks are of primary importance.

Price and Volume Action of the Market

This is perhaps the most important of the indicators and should be watched closely. During a bull market, the action in the market indices should be watched for evidence of a market top.

Characteristics of a Market Top

Churning
Increasing volume but no price progress
Distribution
Price closes lower than the day before on higher volume than the day before.
Reversal Days
The index closes at the low point of the day on higher volume than the day before

NOTE: Add the number of churning, distribution and reversal days together. If you get 3-5 over the course of 1-3 weeks, the market may be topping

After the first selling near the market top, the market averages will sell off for a few days on lower volume and then attempt to rally to near the previous high before beginning to fold under heavy volume (an indication that more investors are catching on to the weakness). The idea is to get out before the market reaches this point!

Example: the chart below shows the distribution and churning at the top of the market in March of 2000.. right before the big crash.

The Dow and Nasdaq may move in opposite directions, signaling weakness. You like to see a broad market rally.

Characteristics of a Market Bottom: Signaling a New Bull Market

Rules for confirming a new rally are as follows:

1. A rally attempt begins on a day when the market closes higher
2. On the 4th – 7th day from the initial increase in the market look for a follow through (a 2% or more gain on heavier volume than the day before.. preferably above average). A follow through may occur on any of the three indices to qualify as a rally confirmation.

IMPORTANT: A follow through later than day 7 indicates a weak uptrend and a follow through before day 4 may indicate short covering. A confirmation in days 4-7 indicates real buying by institutions.

The Action of Leading Stocks

A second very important indicator is the action of leading stocks. Every bull market needs leading stocks breaking out to new highs from sound bases. As a few of these leaders start to break down, the general market may not be far behind. Here are the signs a leader is running out of gas:

Confirming a New Bull With Leading Stocks

After you have confirmed a new rally it’s very important to watch the action of leading stocks to see if they can break out. Don’t buy stocks with reckless abandon at this point because you’re not sure if a new bull market is on the horizon. Maybe buy half your position and set your stop loss level at 5% instead of the usual 8% (see selling for more on preserving capital).

IMPORTANT: Not all confirmed rallies lead to a new bull market, but no new bull market can begin without one

If in fact, new leaders are breaking out of sound bases to new highs it is now OK to become fully invested.

Leading Stocks Provide Clues to Market Top

As the bull run comes to an end, the action of leading stocks may provide clues for you to get out before the rest of the market tanks. Some clues to look for

3rd and 4th Stage Bases
As a stock begins to form a 3rd stage base, more people are catching on to the strength of the market, so it becomes less likely there will be enough buyers left to propel the stock out of the base to further gains. Carving out a fourth stage base rarely happens… it’s around this time that you’ll begin to start hearing stock recommendations from your Uncle Larry. Time to sell!

Rules For Counting Bases

1. Start counting your bases after the stock reaches $10/share (before splits)
2. To qualify as a base it needs to occur after a prior uptrend of at least 30%
3. Bases must be at least 7 weeks in length
4. The base must be a correction of more than 20% to qualify
5. In order to reset the count, the stock must undercut the lows of its most recent base and remain there for a considerable period

Example: The chart below highlights the three bases formed and the subsequent failure after the third base in Teva Pharmaceuticals. Notice the break below the 200 Day Moving Avg (Red Line) on high volume for the first time in nearly two years. If the failed breakout didn’t entice you to sell, this red flag should have been your final clue!

The Big Frenzied Runup: A Climax Top
Some leaders will exhibit what’s called a climax top. The hype surrounding the stock and/or the market can create a surge in buying where a stock will increase 20%, 30%,40% in a very short time. At this time, just about everyone, including uncle Larry owns the stock. It’s probably been featured in several investment magazines. After the climax top you may see churning or a sharp reversal in price which would be the final indication that the run is over.

Example: You can see the frenzied buying occurred on December 29, when the stock surges $32/share on 3X the normal volume on an Exhaustion Gap (the stock opens higher than the previous close due to buying in the after hours market). The very next day you see a major gap up, before a Sharp Price Reversal. (Sell Signal #1). Two days later, there was another large gap open, followed by another Sharp Price Reversal (Sell Signal #2).

Not Making Money
If you haven’t made a dime on your last five purchases it may be a sign that the market isn’t healthy..… or that you need to study this tutorial a few more times!

A Shift To Defensive Stocks
Look for a shift to utilities, foods, tobaccos, etc. as a sign that a weaker market may be ahead.

Investor Psychology

Gauging the feelings of investors about the market is also important in determining the health of the market. The reason for this is fairly simple. If the majority of investors are bullish, there are few buyers left to power the market higher. There is only one place for the market to go… down, as the sellers return. If the majority is bearish, there are few sellers left to send the market down further. Bargain hunters begin to smell an opportunity. As more and more money builds on the sidelines, a positive shift in perceptions will usher in a flood of cash and lead to a new bull market.

In any sustained bull market, it’s necessary to have people concerned about the economy, interest rates or stock valuations. These people sitting on the sidelines and/or shorting stocks provide a lot of capital down the road when they are finally convinced that the bull market is for real. When they do, it’s at this time that you may have the makings of a climax top, tempting the pros to sell. You should be selling too.

The following indicators help to gauge the feelings of investors about the market (however, keep in mind that these indicators are of secondary importance). The price/volume action of the market, the action of leading stocks and interest rates are of primary importance.

I use a lot of different indicators and methods, but one that has been consistently successful is the price/volume relationship at support and resistance levels. Support or resistance areas occur at previous highs and lows. Prices bounce off previous highs and lows and develop trading ranges. I will show you how price and volume react to previous highs and lows, and why price pushes through or reverses at these points.

SWINGS

Previous highs and lows in a stock or index define current support and resistance areas. A previous high or low in a stock or index is referred to as a swing. I draw a horizontal trendline from the previous swing high or low to determine at what price support or resistance will appear in the future. These previous swing highs and lows are points where I make decisions for placing buy or sell orders. The horizontal lines drawn from previous highs and lows indicate where the support or resistance may come in. The line graph of a stock or index in Figure 1 illustrates a swing high and low.
By studying the works of Richard Wyckoff, the master of price and volume, I have developed some rules using the price/volume relationship. Wyckoff developed techniques in the 1930s that combine price and volume of equities with price predictability. The techniques he developed stood the test of time and still work to this day. I expanded on his ideas and came up with several rules that I use daily in my trading. Let’s go over these rules and look at a price history to see where buy and sell signals developed.

TRADING RULES
Here are the rules that I follow, using price and volume to determine buy and sell signals on the Nasdaq Composite and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) indexes:

1 When price tests a previous high or low on an 8% or larger decrease in volume and closes back below the previous high (or above the previous low), it implies a reversal. The market needs to break the previous high or low, then close back into the trading range.

2 When price tests a previous high or low on a 3% or smaller decrease in volume, it implies that the high or low will be exceeded.

3 Always compare the volume relationship to the first high or low, even on the third and fourth retest. The buy and sell signal relationship stays the same (Figures 4A and 4B). It’s not the volume figure that is important on a retest of previous highs or lows, but the percentage increase or decrease in volume relative to previous highs or lows. These volume relationships will signal if the market will pass through or reverse at these previous highs and lows.

4 When markets break to new highs (or lows) on near-equal or increased volume, then reverse back into the trading range, the last high (or low) will be at least tested, and possibly rally through to the next swing high or low. But how do you tell if the last high (or low) will be tested and then reverse or continue through? The answer lies in the volume.
• If volume is at least 8% lighter on the test of high (or low), then expect a reversal.
• If volume is within 3% on the test, then expect continuation.

5 Markets that break to new highs or lows on 8% or greater decrease in volume and close outside of the trading range imply a false break and will come back into the trading range.

6 Tops and bottoms of gaps act and work the same way as previous highs/lows and previous support/ resistance zones. The same volume percent relationship works with the gaps as with retest of previous highs and lows.

Note: If the market cannot take out the previous high on near equal or greater volume, it will reverse and try to take out the previous low of the same degree on near-equal or greater volume. The reverse applies for the lows.

TTCK đang nóng lên hàng ngày và nó đang là kênh đầu tư đang được sự chú ý của nhiều tầng lớp trong xã hội. Để thành công trên TTCK ngòai việc tìm hiểu thông tin và các chỉ số cơ bản về tài chính của các công ty niêm yết thì việc theo dõi đồ thị kỹ thuật cũng không kém phần quan trọng. Việc theo dõi đồ thị là kim chỉ nam trong giao dịch, giúp cho chúng ta có thể xác định được các điểm mua và bán, hạn chế được các lần mua bán không cần thiết và hạn chế được những rủi ro trong giao dịch. Nếu bạn giao dịch mà không xem đồ thị được ví von như một người đi biển mà không có La bàn.
Vậy PTKT là gì? PTKT là quá trình phân tích sự biến động của thị trường ( thay đổi về giá và khối lượng) và dùng những số liệu trong quá khứ trên đồ thị để có thể dự đóan hướng đi tiếp theo của thị trường.
PTKT đã có hàng trăm năm về trước. Theo lịch sử thì ông Homma Muneshia ( 1724 - 1803 ) nhà buôn bán lúa gạo của Nhật Bản là cha đẻ của biều đồ hình nến ( Candle stick ), và ngày nay Candle stick đang rất phổ biến, giúp các nhà đầu tư giành được nhiều lợi nhuận từ lọai biểu đồ này. Homma Muneshia được coi là nhà đầu tư vĩ đại nhất trong lịch sử của thị trường tài chính.
Vì vậy PTKT có thể được coi là có xuất xứ từ Nhật Bản.
Còn ở Mỹ , PTKT được bắt đầu với lý thuyết DOW từ cuối thế kỷ 19 với 6 xu thế của thị trường.

PTKT là một nghệ thuật, nó có thể được kiểm sóat được trong 1 chu kỳ thời gian và không có các chỉ số cơ bản về cổ phiếu . PTKT là 1 nghệ thuật của việc đọc dồ thị và giải thích đồ thị, các mẫu hình của CP. Xác định được hướng đi tiếp theo trong tương lai của CP.

CÁCH ĐỌC VÀ HIỂU ĐÚNG ĐỒ THỊ GIAO DỊCH CƠ BẢN

Về cơ bản thì đồ thị có 3 dạng chính và 6 yếu tố của đồ thị mà khi được sử dụng sẽ tạo nên phong cách giao dịch của nhà đầu tư.
PTKT không thể thiếu đồ thị. Đồ thị là cơ sở nến tảng tạo nên tính nghệ thuật trong PTKT, Nếu không hiểu rỏ ràng vê đồi thị, nhà đầu tư không thể bắt đầu làm chủ PTKT được . Và bây giờ bạn hãy tin rằng PTKT có thể xác đinh được hướng đi tương lai của giá với độ chính xác cao.

6 yếu tố mà NĐT cần quan tâm:
1_ Nhận dạng mã cổ phiếu :

Tên công ty, mã CP, sàn GD
Giá hiện tại
Phần trăm biến đổi giá trong ngày ( HOSE 5%, HNX 07%)

2_ Khung thời gian : Market Việt nam GD theo giá đóng cửa trong ngày, nhà đầu tư không được mua bán cũng 1 mã CP tong ngày, vì vậy khung thời gian để theo dõi đồ thị tốt nhất là từ 3 tháng trở lên .
3_ Khối lượng GD : KL thể hiện dự tham gia của các thành phần vào các CP riêng biệt trong ngày GD. KLGD dùng để xác nhận lại sự biến động của giá, khi bạn thấy Volume đột biến theo chiếu giá tăng hay giảm, có nghĩa là ở mức đó có nhiều người tham gia mua bán. KLGD được ví von như là 1 bình nhiên liệu của giá, nếu giá tăng mà KLGD không tăng lên tức là không có nhiều người tham gia thì Giá khó có thể đi xa được.
4 _ Đường xu hướng ( trend line) : Đường thẳng nối qua 3 điểm hay nhiều hơn, khi bạn vẽ được đường thẳng nối các điểm ở giá đóng của thì trend line này có giá trị vững chắc.

Phân tích 3 cổ phiếu ngành thép HPG, HSG, HLA

HPG hiện là doanh nghiệp có thị phần lớn thứ 4 trong phân khúc thép xây dựng và thứ 2 trong ngành ống thép. HSG và HLA lần lượt dẫn đầu phân khúc tôn mạ và ống thép.

Tháng 8/2009, tiêu thụ thép đã có mức tăng trưởng rất mạnh. Trong đó mảng thép xây dựng có mức tăng trưởng mạnh nhất so với cùng kỳ năm ngoái.

Trung bình một tháng trong điều kiện bình thường thép xây dựng có thể tiêu thụ được khoảng 350 nghìn tấn. Tuy nhiên, trong tháng 8, vào thời điểm mùa mưa chuẩn bị bắt đầu cũng như là tháng 7 âm lịch, mức tiêu thụ đã bất ngờ tăng lên 401 nghìn tấn.

Đối với sản phẩm ống thép và tôn mạ, mức tiêu thụ của tháng 8 cũng cao hơn mức tiêu thụ trung bình từng tháng từ đầu năm tới nay.

Theo CTCP Chứng khoán Sài Gòn (SSI), nguyên nhân của tiêu thụ tăng mạnh nhờ

hưởng lợi từ gói kích cầu các công trình xây dựng và cơ sở hạ tầng được khởi động trở lại;
hoạt động xây dựng của khu vực dân doanh sôi động
giá thép tăng nhẹ kề từ tháng 5 cho tới nay cũng là một yếu tố thúc đẩy nhu cầu tiêu thụ mạnh hơn.

Đến hết tháng 8/2009, thép xây dựng đã tăng trưởng 22% so với cùng kỳ. SSI cho rằng vào các tháng cuối năm 2009 giải ngân xây dựng tốt hơn nên tiêu thụ thép, đặc biệt là thép xây dựng tiếp tục có cơ hội tăng trưởng tốt. Sang năm 2010, Hiệp hội Thép Việt Nam (VSA) dự đoán mức tăng trưởng của toàn ngành sẽ ở mức 10-12%.

Cập nhật một số công ty niêm yết

Hòa Phát (HPG): Hòa Phát là một doanh nghiệp đầu ngành về thép xây dựng với tổng sản lượng tối đa có thể đạt 300 nghìn tấn/năm (thị phần 8.5%) và ống thép với tổng sản lượng tối đa khoảng 100 nghìn tấn/năm (thị phần khoảng 14%) với thị trường hoạt động chủ yếu ở miền Bắc.

Hòa Phát vừa đầu tư dự án sản xuất thép xây dựng từ quặng với tổng công suất tăng thêm là 350 nghìn tấn sẽ đưa vào hoạt động từ cuối 2009.

Ước tính lợi nhuận sau thuế 2009 Hòa Phát sẽ đạt khoảng 1.096 tỷ VND, P/E 2009 khoảng 13. Cổ tức 2009 của Hòa Phát hiện tại là 30% trong đó Hội đồng quản trị chưa quyết định hoàn toàn là trả cổ tức bằng tiền mặt hay bằng cổ phiếu.

Rủi ro cần theo dõi là việc đưa dự án mới vào sản xuất là một thách thức lớn trong bối cảnh tổng công suất của toàn ngành đã vượt quá cầu và dự án lò cao có đòi hỏi khắt khe về đảm bảo trữ lượng quặng sử dụng thường xuyên cho lò.

Tiêu thụ thép xây dựng, tháng 8 và 8 tháng/2009

Tôn Hoa Sen (HSG): là doanh nghiệp chuyên về tôn mạ với thị phần đứng đầu (25%).

Công ty là nhà sản xuất thép tấm từ thép cuộn cán nóng HRC (miễn thuế nhập khẩu) trong khi sản phẩm tiếp theo là thép cuộn cán nguội CRC thì chịu 8% thuế nhập khẩu cho sản phẩm từ ASEAN và 12% sản phẩm từ các nước khác.

Mỗi tháng trung bình sản lượng tiêu thụ của HSG khoảng 18 nghìn tấn với sản phẩm chủ yếu phục vụ mục đích xây dựng (lợp mái) và đồ dùng dân dụng (ấm nước, đồ gia dụng inox-thép, tôn lạnh cách nhiệt), công trình giao thông.

Hệ thống bán lẻ của HSG rất mạnh: Hoa Sen tiến hành sản xuất sau đó bán lại với giá vốn cho hệ thống 81 chi nhánh bán lẻ chỉ phân phối duy nhất sản phẩm của công ty (điều này giúp HSG có lợi nhuận biên tốt tuy nhiên sẽ tạo áp lực lên quản lý dòng tiền do thời gian tồn kho kéo rất dài). Dự kiến, hệ thống này mở rộng từ 81 lên 150-200 chi nhánh trong các năm tới. Đa số các chi nhánh bán lẻ đều là sở hữu đất của HSG với giá trị mua thấp.

Kế hoạch LNST 2009-2010 là 433 tỷ tương đương với 36tỷ/tháng (hiện nay trong quý 3/2009 LNST đang ở mức trên 60 tỷ/tháng). Kế hoạch này dựa trên: lượng hàng tồn kho giá thấp đủ dùng trong vòng 8-9 tháng tới, tăng sản lượng tiêu thụ từ các chi nhánh hiện tại và chi nhánh mới, sản lượng của nhà máy mới bắt đầu hoạt động từ tháng 4/2009. SSI cho rằng kế hoạch lợi nhuận sau thuế và EPS của năm tới trên 7200VND có độ khả thi cao.

P/E cho năm tài chính tới khoảng 9x, khá hấp dẫn. Rủi ro cần quan tâm bao gồm sự cạnh tranh của nhà máy thép cán nguội Posco đi vào hoạt động từ tháng 9/2009 và quản lý dòng tiền.

Tiêu thụ ống thép, tháng 8 và 8 tháng/2009

Hữu Liên Á Châu (HLA): Chủng loại sản phẩm chính của HLA là ống thép và là nhà cung cấp ống thép lớn hàng đầu với công suất khoảng 7 nghìn tấn/tháng, cạnh tranh với Hoà Phát và ống thép Việt Đức (VGS).

HLA đang đầu tư xây dựng nhà máy mới để tăng công suất lên 10 nghìn tấn/tháng, lập 1 công ty con về nội thất xuất khẩu (51% thuộc sở hữu của HLA) và công ty Minh Hữu Liên đầu tư phụ trách việc xây dựng nhà máy mới và phát triển khu đất 7ha mà nhà máy cũ di dời đi.

Năm 2009, sau 3 quý HLA dự kiến đạt khoảng 80% kế hoạch và triển vọng có thể đạt trên 2.000 tỷ doanh thu và 80-90 tỷ LNST (so với kế hoạch là 71 tỷ VND). PE2009 khoảng 8x, khá hấp dẫn do ở mức thấp hơn so với các công ty trong ngành. Năm 2010 kế hoạch tăng trưởng của HLA là 15%.

Kết thúc phiên giao dịch ngày 14/9, cổ phiếu HPG và HLA giảm nhẹ 500 đồng và 100 đồng. Trong khi đó, HSG tăng 500 đồng lên 62.500 đồng.

7 Common Breakdown Patterns (ZT)

—Patterns—

1) Double Top:

The double top formation takes several weeks or months to develop. It’s a reversal pattern that stops an extended uptrend. The 2nd top is unable to make a new high and threatens to breakdown from the neckline, which is the nearest support for both peaks. The idea short entry is either early on the breakdown or on the flag (if develops at the neckline). There are several secondary entry points in case you miss the first.

2) Descending Triangle:

The descending triangle is an easy pattern to find. This triangle holds horizontal support, but continues to make lower highs, creating a downtrend. The ideal entry is to enter before the triangle breaks since the breakdown is usually a gap down or a powerful intraday breakdown. I always take the risk to short as the triangle develops.

3) Initial Breakdown + Flag Combo:

The initial breakdown + flag combination is 2-part. Part I consists of a major breakdown (usually the largest red candle present in the entire uptrend) on massive above average volume (typically the largest volume present on the chart). Part II consists of a flag that indicates that the stock is in a reactionary rally and the volume must be low. The ideal time to short is not on the initial breakdown, but on the flag.

4) Head and Shoulders:

The H&S is a popular pattern. The most important part of the pattern is the right shoulder since a lower high is necessary to confirm that the uptrend is ending. Like the double top, you have the option to short on the breakdown or on any flag that develops on or near the neckline. Typically, there are several short entry points following the initial move lower.

5) Rising Wedges:

Rising wedges would be difficult patterns to determine if it weren’t for volume. The wedge is a uptrending trading range that will become more and more narrow as it reaches the apex. Volume must get lighter and lighter as the pattern progresses. You may enter the wedge before a breakdown, but I like to short in the breakdown (which should be accompanied by volume expansion) for confirmation.

6) Parabolic Moves Up:

These are stocks that jump 100%, 200% or more in a span of several days. The top of the pattern is marked by buying exhaustion and the best way to determine the exact top is to look out for the following candlestick patterns: doji, gravestone doji, long-legged doji, shooting stars, dark could covers, and bearish engulfings. All patterns are typically accompanied by the highest volume bar on the entire chart. Entering on the topping day may provide more profit, but it is riskier. The next day is considered the confirmation day in which the stock breaks down. The 2nd option for entry (less risk) is to enter at the very beginning of the breakdown.

7) Bear Flags/Pennants:

Bear flags/pennants are the most common short patterns. They mark continuations in a downtrend and are highly reliable (similar to bull flags). The idea time is to obviously get in before the breakdown, and you may only have 1-2 days to do so. The volume must be light on the flag, and the volume should increase singificantly on the breakdown. Think of this pattern as an inverted flagpole /w flag.

—Moving Averages as Resistance and Support—

In addition to the patterns themselves, moving averages play an important role. I use the 20-, 50-, 100-, and 200-day MA’s for long and short setups, but I also incorporate the 10- and 15-day MAs because a stock declines much faster, thus you will need a much shorter-term MA. Find the right MA that guides the stock because not all stocks follow the same MA.

I categorize moving averages in two ways: MA’s acting as resistance and MA’s for churning. Moving averages act as magnets and they are just as reliable as the setups they guide. When we went long, we used the various MA’s as support which acted as springboards to propel the stock higher. Think opposite of that now. MA’s for churning simple means that a stock flags either immediately above, on, or under a stock. Usually, the stock cannot make a higher higher and/or a 2nd MA is looking to catch up to the stock.

CTCP Dịch vụ Tổng hợp Dầu khí (Petrosetco - PET) dự kiến trong quý III này sẽ hoàn thành đợt phát hành 6 triệu cổ phiếu.

Ông Nguyễn Hữu Thành, Tổng giám đốc Petrosetco (mã CK:PET) cho biết: Theo kế hoạch, trong quý III này, Công ty sẽ hoàn thành đợt phát hành 6 triệu cổ phiếu.

Hiện nay, Petrosetco đã hoàn thành hồ sơ và nộp lên Ủy ban Chứng khoán Nhà nước (UBCK). Ngay sau khi được UBCK chấp thuận, Công ty sẽ công bố chi tiết cho nhà đầu tư trên website của mình.

7 tháng đầu năm 2009, hầu hết mảng kinh doanh của Petrosetco đều đạt kết quả khả quan, trong đó kinh doanh phân phối điện thoại di động Nokia và các sản phẩm IT vẫn là mảng tiên phong, đóng góp lớn vào kết quả kinh doanh chung.

Tính đến hết tháng 6/2009, Petrosetco đạt tổng doanh thu 3.895 tỷ đồng, bằng 69,6% kế hoạch năm; lợi nhuận đạt 83,71 tỷ đồng, bằng 83,71% kế hoạch năm.

Dự án số 1 Trần Khắc Chung đã được UBND TP. Vũng Tàu phê duyệt quy hoạch 1:500. Tổng công ty đang lập dự án đầu tư, dự kiến triển khai dự án vào đầu năm 2010.

Còn về dự án Cao ốc Petrosetco Thanh Đa, công ty đang xin chỉ tiêu quy hoạch để dự án đạt được hiệu quả cao nhất. Quý II/2010, Petrosetco sẽ giải phóng mặt bằng và chuẩn bị khởi công dự án.

Những ngành đáng chú ý trong 6 tháng cuối năm

Theo SSI, hàng tiêu dùng, dược, xây dựng và VLXD sẽ là những ngành đáng được chú ý trong nửa cuối năm 2009. Lợi nhuận các DN khác sẽ tiếp tục tăng nhưng yếu tố đột biến sẽ ít đi.

Trong báo cáo đánh giá kết quả kinh doanh quý II/2009 của 41 công ty niêm yết trên hai sàn, bộ phận phân tích CTCP Chứng khoán Sài Gòn nhận thấy mặc dù tăng trưởng lợi nhuận của nhóm các công ty này tăng trên 40% song doanh thu chỉ tăng trên 3%.

Cổ phiếu một số nhóm ngành như vật liệu xây dựng hoặc ngân hàng có diễn biến tăng trưởng doanh thu cao. Điều này giải thích bởi gói kích cầu của Chính phủ đã có tác động tích cực giúp mức tiêu thụ về vật liệu xây dựng tăng cao trong khi hoạt động tín dụng cũng tăng trưởng tốt trong nửa đầu năm.

Ngoài ra, những ngành mang tính ổn định cao như tiêu dùng cơ bản (sữa, dầu ăn), điện, dược vẫn giữ được mức doanh thu cao nhờ duy trì được sản lượng tiêu thụ.

Một số trường hợp tăng trưởng doanh thu đột biến mang tính nhất thời so với cùng kỳ như TBC (lượng mưa lớn hơn so với cùng kỳ), VSC và DXP (tình trạng ùn tắc hàng đông lạnh tại khu vực cảng Hải Phòng giúp các công ty có doanh thu cao đột biến), SJS (do doanh thu quý II/2008 quá thấp).

Trong khi đó, lợi nhuận sau thuế của một số công ty trong quý II đã vượt ngoài dự đoán của khối phân tích nhờ yếu tố đầu tư tài chính (SAM, KDC, REE); hoàn nhập dự phòng hàng tồn kho (DPM, HPG); bán tài sản (VNM – bán liên doanh bia tăng lợi nhuận thêm 225 tỷ đồng).

Nửa cuối 2009: Bất ngờ có lặp lại?

Theo bộ phận phân tích SSI, tăng trưởng doanh thu của 41 công ty phân tích trong nửa cuối năm 2009 sẽ là 0,9% so với cùng kỳ 2008. Các công ty trong ngành vận tải, dầu khí, cao su và điện sẽ có mức doanh thu sụt giảm trong nửa cuối 2009.

Các công ty vận tải (VSP, PVT, GMD) vẫn sẽ tiếp tục khó khăn do cước giảm quá mạnh. Ngành dầu khí và cao su cũng có doanh thu giảm do giá dầu và cao su tự nhiên mặc dù phục hồi nhưng vẫn thấp hơn nửa cuối năm 2008.

Ngành điện cuối năm 2008 có doanh thu cao đột biến do mưa nhiều và điều này khó có thể lặp lại trong năm 2009. Ngành thủy sản có thể có doanh thu khả quan hơn đầu năm do thời vụ của ngành nhưng khó có tăng trưởng so với cùng kỳ năm trước và khó đạt mục tiêu xuất khẩu năm 2009.

Ngược lại, một số ngành có doanh thu tăng trưởng nhờ sản lượng tiêu thụ là vật liệu xây dựng (xi măng, ống nhựa, thép), hàng tiêu dùng (sữa, bánh kẹo, dầu ăn), dược …

Theo ước tính của bộ phận phân tích SSI, mức tăng trưởng lợi nhuận của các công ty trong nhóm phân tích trong nửa cuối năm 2009 sẽ là 59,1% so với cùng kỳ.

Về tình hình sản xuất kinh doanh chính, các ngành dự báo tăng trưởng sản lượng tiêu thụ như hàng tiêu dùng, dược, vật liệu xây dựng có nguồn cầu tốt sẽ tiếp tục tăng trưởng so với cùng kỳ; các công ty vay vốn với lãi suất thấp (bù lãi suất 4% trong gói kích cầu của Chính phủ - DPM, [HAG], HPG, DHG, NTP)…có lợi thế về chi phí vốn thấp; các công ty có doanh thu sụt giảm thì lợi nhuận hoạt động sản xuất kinh doanh sẽ sụt giảm theo (dầu khí, cao su tự nhiên, thủy điện, vận tải).

Về lợi nhuận khác, các công ty đầu tư vào TTCK như REE, GMD, VNM, STB, ACB, BMI, PVI sẽ ít có rủi ro phải trích lập dự phòng đầu tư CK giống năm 2008 do thị trường đã hồi phục và ổn định hơn; thậm chí sẽ được hoàn nhập một phần dự phòng tài chính (ACB, STB, VCB); ngoài ra các công ty phải trích lập dự phòng giảm giá hàng tồn kho cũng ít có khả năng phải trích lập nhiều hơn do xu hướng giá nguyên vật liệu cơ bản vẫn ở vùng thấp và khó có khả năng giảm sâu.

Đối với các công ty phải ghi nhận lỗ do chênh lệch tỷ giá chưa thực hiện cho các khoản nợ vay bằng ngoại tệ sẽ chịu áp lực ít hơn vì hạch toán khoản này không sử dụng tỷ giá giao dịch mà sử dụng tỷ giá chính thức của NHNN (dưới 17.000 đồng/USD).

VNINDEX _ CUP AND HANDLE

Gần đây trên các trang web hay các bài phân tích về VN index thường hay đưa ra pattern " CUP and HANDLE" để nói về hướng đi tiếp theo của VN index. Nhưng theo tôi thì đó là 1 sai lầm nếu khuyên nhà đầu tư mua vào khi VN index dạt 520 với 1 khối lượng lớn. Nếu muốn đưa pattern này vào VN index thì theo tôi phải thêm 1 tháng nữa mới xét về khả năng hình thành mô hình này.
Nếu như VN index có thể hình thành pattern này thì có thể hướng đi sẽ như sau nếu như VNIndex hình thành 1 pattern CUP and Handle lý tưởng : 2 miệng cup bằng nhau. Nhưng đôi khi sự lý tưởng này sẽ không diễn ra, miệng bên có thể thấp hơn miệng CUP bên trái. Nhưng 1 dấu hiệu nhận biết khi hình thành miệng CUP là VOLUME rất lớn. Vì thế theo tôi khi VN index dạt 1 Volume đôt biến thì ta nên xem xét việc bán hơn là mua vào.
